Nintendo sends President Bush DS Lite, Brain Age for b-day

Nintendo sent President Bush a DS Lite and a copy of Brain Age (mind you) for his 60th birthday which he'll be celebrating tomorrow. Along with the gaming package came a 'lil happy birthday letter that
We'd pay a grundle to see Dubya yell out "Blue!" several times at his new DS Lite.
[thanks to all that sent this in]

Oh my god.
Awesome.

Once again, Nintendo targets children with their products...
Zelda Master @ Jul 5th 2006 10:13PM
Awesome!
ZaBlanc @ Jul 5th 2006 10:16PM
Great to know that he'll be able to play a Nintendo DS whilst he has a few hundred thousand American soldiers getting him his oil.
bill pullman @ Jul 5th 2006 10:17PM
here come all the empty-headed liberal remarks...
Chris Clark @ Jul 5th 2006 10:22PM
@ Tony Franco, lol.
Where there's smoke there's fire.
Johnny Bloom @ Jul 5th 2006 10:26PM
Can't we all just end the cliched remarks and agree that the touch generations symbol is so awesome?
makesevenu @ Jul 5th 2006 10:27PM
aside from all the rude liberal marks, i too think it would be funny to see him yelling "blue" at his ds. i have been in the exact same position...but to see a political leader doing it would be hilarious.
superbagman @ Jul 5th 2006 10:27PM
Oh Noes, here come all the hot-headed conservative attacks...
Bryan Brown @ Jul 5th 2006 10:27PM
@ bill pullman
There goes the pointless partisan attack...
Ben18 @ Jul 5th 2006 10:30PM
Yeah I'm sure the troops are getting him his oil. The prices and the recent American suprlus certainly reflects that, now doesn't it? I'm not a huge Bush-supporter, but I am a Republican, I would get quite a kick out of watching him shout in to his DS with his already awful speach and accent. "Blue..heh heh".
LongshotX @ Jul 5th 2006 10:31PM
I wonder if he is smart enough to solve all those puzzles in Brain Age...
1up_clock @ Jul 5th 2006 10:31PM
Hey, if he can see what good games could do for him, maybe he could do something about everybody grandstanding about violence, sex, etc.
Or not. But, you never know when an idiot might make a good decision.
insertnamehere @ Jul 5th 2006 10:34PM
I wonder if Bush will find this mildly insulting. I recommended the game to my Dad, and he took it as an inferred accusation of senelity and stupidity. Bush must be sensitive about the glut of "dumb Bush" jokes that began in 1999 and never stopped, and coming on his 60th birthday, it also becomes an old age jibe too. Maybe they should have sent him Nintendogs instead? Then he'll be able to make virtual Barney (his dog) Christmas videos.
BTW, notice England gets the Black DS, but the President of the United States is relegated to merely the lowly white version.
Johnny Bloom @ Jul 5th 2006 10:37PM
Now I actually am the only person that hasn't played brain age while owning a DS.
Xizer @ Jul 5th 2006 10:43PM
insertnamehere, WTF are you talking about? The black DS looks like shit.

I hate saying blue! BrainAge needs a patch or something.. cause me and 7 of my friends that tried can never get blue
insertnamehere @ Jul 5th 2006 11:01PM
Xizer, I think that the Black DS Lite looks very sexy, and judging from the readers here who complained when only Europe was getting the Black DS Lite, I don't think I am alone.
The Mayor @ Jul 5th 2006 11:03PM
is it still funney 2 make fun of bush? ok, here i go.
BUSH IS DUMB. lol.
Lambda @ Jul 5th 2006 11:10PM
@ #4, after all, gas has just gotten cheaper since we've invaded Iraq... O WAIT.
LaughingTarget @ Jul 5th 2006 11:13PM
According to Trey Parker, making fun of Bush has lost all of its edge. It is expected and most people don't even pay attention to it anymore. It is far more entertaining to walk into a room of die-hard liberals and scream "I love Bush!"
Bush isn't the sensitive type, so he won't take offense by this. He makes fun of himself as much as any other guy. Probably play it during Cabinet meetings and such.
Marc @ Jul 5th 2006 11:15PM
HA!
The only numbers going higher each day, and at the same pace that his apporval ratings are going down, is his Brain Age!
Oh, GOD I've been looking for an excuse to say that!
GSI @ Jul 5th 2006 11:27PM
"after all, gas has just gotten cheaper since we've invaded Iraq... O WAIT."
So that was the reason why we took out Saddam...for gas...oh wait...it wasn't.
Don't you just love it when people pull 'facts' out of their ass?
Mark @ Jul 5th 2006 11:27PM
This is fantastic, and a great example of why I am such a Nintendo fan. If anyone needs a bit of brain improvement, it's this warmongering idiot. Kudos to Nintendo!
bounchfx @ Jul 5th 2006 11:31PM
"14. insertnamehere, WTF are you talking about? The black DS looks like shit."
hey bud, you forgot to add "In my opinion".
now you just look like a dick.
I think the black ds looks awesome, and I wish it came out here, or in japan.. I imported the navy one instead, it looks awesome but it's no black.
langlen @ Jul 5th 2006 11:41PM
Ah, the partisan attacks. Gotta love America.
Anyways, I do find this fucking hilarious. THe undertones, the undertones...
BklynKid @ Jul 5th 2006 11:46PM
I really doubt tht Brain Age will help Mr. Bush... at all.
Night Elve @ Jul 5th 2006 11:55PM
I like Nintendo now =P
Just what Bush needs a software to train his brain, because he is so dumb.
Maddux @ Jul 5th 2006 11:58PM
It's funny to see how a story about a birthday present turns into a political debate. Maybe it is a little bit of a joke, but I don't think Nintendo is trying to make a political statement here. I think they sent it to him because they knew it would make the press and strum up a little business ('cause these fledling companies need as much press as they can get).
And for goodness sake people, let's keep the extremist statements from either wing on news forums and such. I come here to read about games not everybody's half-informed opinions (and I count my opinion among those, so keep your shirt on). I can get angry political banter EVERYWHERE else!
Magica @ Jul 6th 2006 12:06AM
Should I be amused that Bush got Brain Age out of all the games?
Joe @ Jul 6th 2006 12:19AM
@GSI
Speaking of pulling facts out of our ass, the reason we invaded Iraq was because of Weapons of Mass Destruction. When we couldn't find any, they changed the rationale for war and hoped that no one would pick up on it. Apparently they succeeded for the most part.
HotShotX @ Jul 6th 2006 12:21AM
Unfortunately for the rest of us, this present much too late in Bush's second term to be of much effect.

well here comes my smartass comment about bush... the only reason he went to iraq is because is daddy was captured in desert storm so he wanted his wittle revenge awwww such a baby... we should have gone after bin laden... but oh thats right he escaped and we invaded iraq for the WMDs..O WAIT there was no WMDs... ha
GSI @ Jul 6th 2006 12:36AM
@ Joe:
...and how about using ALL of the facts instead of just what is most convenient for you. We overthrew Saddam based on WORLD WIDE intelligence AND the previous administration also thought he was a threat which all stated he had WMDs. In fact he DID have WMDs at one point...ever heard of the Kurds being gased?

I agree with Maddux. While I am guilty myself of talking politics on this message board, http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/02/south-park-republican-defends-video-games-in-wsj-op-ed/ it upsets me that every discussion turns into an argument. It's kinda of annoying when stories about Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony turns into hardcore fanboyism, but at least it's not offensive. My dad has always said to never talk to people about race, sexuality, politics or religion. Yet so many posts on this site turns into homophobia, or conservatives are dicks and liberals are pussy's(Team America). I think I was most disgusted at how the story on a Saudi Arabian refusing to play an Israeli in the Electronic Sports World Cup turned into extreme racism to the point where Joystiq had to disable the comments.

Act fucking mature everybody, and realize that just because the internet makes you annonymous that doesn't mean your comments are invincible.
P.S. Hey Dubya, if you wanna jump on Wi-fi, I'll take you on. I have 13 seconds for Calculations *20. President Pwned.

Nah.. it's too late for him, but hey mabee Jesus will help him because u know Bush is one of his Prophets and if he helps him at his 3rd worldwar against terrorissm he can help him here too..
By the way hähm Mr. Bush... äämmm..well u have one of our fellow citizen in ur concentration camp guantanamo... can u my give hm back? (No Im not a terrorist, I'm from Bremen Germany and i prefer to life WITH the human rights.. oh wait we still have them... can u say that too?)
But I dont think he doesn't need a Brain Trainer he needs a hearing aid, because when we were shouting over here with thousands of people: "No blood for oil!/Kein Blut für Öl!" He just didn't hear us...
To make it short:
The ony thing Bush should get to his Birthday is a Bullet, becaus his political system is a shame for Democracy.
GSI @ Jul 6th 2006 12:59AM
Some how I don't think living with 3 square meals a days, personal time for prayer, etc. isn't a 'concentration' camp. People have yet to give proop that there is 'torture' happening at Guantanamo Bay.
Oh and since you're from Germany...since when do we have to care what other countries think? Have you ever lived here in the US? I would rather have a volunteer military then be forced to join it.
I swear...people LOVE to pick and choose information and 'try' to back up their side...both sides are guilty of this.
GSI @ Jul 6th 2006 1:02AM
"Yeah I'm sure the troops are getting him his oil." (Ben18)
You are pretty pathetic to talk about the troops that way. Regardless of whether or not you approve of any administration, the troops deserve honor and respect for volunteering their time and defending your freedoms.
head shot @ Jul 6th 2006 1:06AM
i don't think nintendo gives a crap about Bush's policies. it was a wise press move on their part. you don't see microsoft or sony pulling that move. as far as the gift being too late because his term is almost over, i highly doubt a video game of any kind could make any politician a better one. it's just a game.
p.s. for those that wanna burn the flag, wrap yourself up in it first.
Darcrequiem @ Jul 6th 2006 1:16AM
I knew what I would walk into but I read the comments anyway. The funny thing to me is that conservatives defend Bush. I am going to say this slowly Bush....is.....not.....conservative. This guys spending is ridiculous. What kind of moron increases spending while cutting taxes. Does he have any concept of how finances work? A conservative is supposed to cut taxes and cut spending. Small goverment is a core conservative value and the goverment has become increasing large under our so called "conservative" president. People need to stop towing the party line and think for themselves.
Ben18 @ Jul 6th 2006 2:01AM
You worthless piece of shit #42. I was responding to #4 through sarcasm. And for your information I have served one term in Iraq under the first Marine Battalion, 5th Regiment, defending bitches like you who can't even think to read the whole list of comments. What we're there, 41 before you? Don't talk to me about honor and respect when I've lost close friends in the deserts of Iraq. I in fact was defending the mission that has been slandered so much in this country, and you probably have no idea what it's like. If you by some miracle have served, I commend you, and only ask that you take the time to read before you reply. Don't call me pathetic, I hate f#ckers like you.
Bultie @ Jul 6th 2006 2:02AM
hahah oh jusus cant stop laughing realy
GSI
I dont have any problem with you or your opinion, butt...
with your expressions you are exacly the cliche American the rest of the world knows.
"Some how I don't think living with 3 square meals a days, personal time for prayer, etc. isn't a 'concentration' camp." Ur talking about the "prisioneers"? Those with black bags abov theyr heads? Those who try to kill themselfe because they can't stand the Phisical and Psychological pain anymore? In the "prission" where the organisation of human rights only says "OH MY GOD" and where a judge ordered to close it??
Noooo of course its not a concentraition camp, we didnt harm the judish tooo, we just made them to a better product like leather or soap (stay back this ironic bites) and when the organisation of human rights came they saw only the things the Nazis had build only for the inspectors ( but were never used by "prisioneers") so they left and wrote down: "Hitler gave the judish a bautiful place where thay can stay until the war ends." AND THAT IS THE SAME WHAT IS HAPPENING AT GUANTANAMO.
'torture' ''torture''???? what are those fuckn ' ' doing there????? its IS torture physical and psychological.
"the troops deserve honor and respect for volunteering their time and defending your freedoms."
Hand and Head up turn to the flag and know say with me: By he flag of america I swear... I will rape and kill civil woman(and theyr family too), I will shoot at children because i want my revenge, I will find biological and chemical weapons,
I will die for Oil, I will give the world MY Freedom under MY free political system,
AND
I will shoot myself into the leg to get home....
(I fell ith all those families which husmands fathers or friends died, I will do the best i can if one od the deserteurs needs help BUT I WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS USELESS WAR)
"since when do we have to care what other countries think?" Since ure atacking them randomly to get theyr soil-estimate.
Have you ever lived here in the US? My grandpa lives in the U.S and a huge partof our family and the don't support bush and the war too.
"I would rather have a volunteer military then be forced to join it"
In germany u wre not forced to join the military u have to make a social year, you can go to military true but u can alo go to hospital, kindergarden, help old people go tho the catastoph fighting unit ooorrrr u can just skiping it by writing them good reasons why u don't want/can do it.
So Heil Bush! (Arm raising)
Wolllt ihrrr den absoluten Öllkrreig?
Eric Cranston @ Jul 6th 2006 2:04AM
I seriously like Bush, he seems like a fun guy to hang with, politics probably aren't his thing....but hey maybe Sudoku is. It's a fun game....and plus DS Lites are just plain sexy.
So Happy B-Day Mr. Bush, enjoy your DS and eat some lovely cake.
